Welcome
Hello
Message from our President
The Good Shepherd Center welcomes you to our updated website. Our goal is to communicate our progress in fulfilling the mission of the Good Shepherd Center which was founded 39 years ago this June.
The mission of the Good Shepherd Center is to speak into the lives with compassion, respect, and dignity, providing a better way to meet a core of essential needs and other ministry support to our struggling Monroe County neighbors-while encouraging them to reach for self-sufficiency.
Many new features have been added to our website, including:
Critical Needs: Every month you will find a list of critical needs items that you might want to consider helping us provide for our clients. In the past this included direct contributions to specific areas, like food for children, prevention of utility shutoffs and assistance to veterans.
Volunteer Recognition: We will recognize a volunteer every month with their story. As we learn about their support for the Good Shepherd Center, you will agree with me that they are very special people.
Contributing Churches: The list of contributing churches will be a featured and we can see how each of them contributes in their own way to completing the mission of the Good Shepherd Center.
Events: An events page featuring our upcoming events and opportunities to participate in our outreach and fundraising programs.
I hope you check our page frequently for new information. I look forward to meeting you at one of our events and I appreciate your support for the Good Shepherd Center in 2025 and beyond.
Mike Engelhaupt
Board President
