Thank you for visiting the Good Shepherd Center website.

We recently held our third annual Gala, this year celebrating 40 years of continuous service in Monroe County. The Gala was a complete sell out and the evening was memorable. Our Gala is becoming one of the not-to-miss social events in our area. Next year’s event is scheduled for August 14, 2026.

As the holiday season is approaching, the team at the Good Shepherd Center is beginning our preparations to provide additional holiday meals in both November and December. Special food drives are planned which include our traditional turkey and ham collections. Frozen turkeys, hams and canned goods will be accepted at each location. The goal of 700 turkeys and hams will ensure that our clients receive a complete holiday meal. Donations can also be made at our facility during office hours.

In November, our Honor a Veteran donation program will be highlighted. A $25 donation provides a box of food that will honor a designated Veteran. Your $300 donation will ensure that a food box is provided every month for one year. The Good Shepherd Center currently supports 75 Veterans as clients.

End-of-year donations through the Required Minimum Distribution, for those over the age of 73, provide the opportunity to reduce your tax burden while providing critical funding for GSC. For those under the age of 73, donations to a non-profit like GSC might be deductible as well. As always, consult your financial advisor.

With our increasing number of clients, the need for volunteers continues to grow. We have opportunities that range from once a week to once a month. If you can sort clothes, engage with our clients by asking a few questions, prepare food boxes or provide a comforting greeting, we have a spot for you.
