Good Shepherd Center Provides Free Food
March 31, 2025
The Good Shepherd Center provided USDA supplied food Friday, March 28 to 278 families as they drove through the parking lot at the Good Shepherd Center. Twenty-two individuals who received a box of food were veterans.
Twenty-four volunteers made the day a very successful operation. While some were assisting in getting government forms completed, others were using the assembly line method to fill the boxes and others were putting the boxes in the vehicles. If you would like to help at our next event, contact our office at 423-420-8888 or complete the volunteer application on our website: www.goodshepherdcenter.net
The government free food day is the fourth Friday of the month, provided food is available from the USDA. Follow the Good Shepherd Center on Facebook for status of our free food days. Verification of participation in a government program like SNAP, Families First (FF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LP), Public Housing or self-declaration of eligibility based on income guidelines is required.
